After about four hours at the Ravenswood Winery, I drove north to Glen Ellen, where I stopped off at the similarly beautiful Benzinger Vineyards. Benzinger is not only the oldest vineyard in California, it is also one of the very few biodynamic vineyards in the world, which means it uses non-grapevine plants to attract beneficial insects. They don't use pesticides, and they also make some of the best cabernet sauvignon I've ever tasted.
